Mark Howie '93 President
Mark Bryant Howie is an Entrepreneur and IT Consultant who received his BA in Math from Hampton in 1993. He then received his M.S. (ABD) in Applied Mathematics at Clark-Atlanta studying under Dr. Abdulalim Shabazz and Dr. J. Ernest Wilkins Jr. in 1995. After finishing grad school , he embarked on a 31 year IT career that started at IBM
Mark Bryant Howie is an Entrepreneur and IT Consultant who received his BA in Math from Hampton in 1993. He then received his M.S. (ABD) in Applied Mathematics at Clark-Atlanta studying under Dr. Abdulalim Shabazz and Dr. J. Ernest Wilkins Jr. in 1995. After finishing grad school , he embarked on a 31 year IT career that started at IBM across 10 years. He then worked for multiple boutique consulting companies with an emphasis on short term, multimillion dollar, mission critical projects. During his career, he has consulted at over 70 companies. After working with the family computer business from its inception in 1989, he started his own consulting firm in 2014.
Mark has been active with the chapter for a few years as the student liaison. His daughter Mia is now a student at Hampton while his bonus son completed his BA from Towson last year. Mark usually chaperones the Thanksgiving and High School Day Buses. He is quite excited to be working with the team. He has already twice hosted the Freshmen Mixer at his home and is working on other events to increase interest in the chapter. Mark is also the cochair of his high school Black Alumni Committee.
Mark has an eclectic sense of humor and as he shares, he is the epitome of MBIT INFJ. As a divorcee, in Mark’s spare time, he enjoys his family (including his dog Ace), music, writing, reading Wikipedia, the Intercept, Nation, Guardian, and Democracy Now to name a few. He is also a student of black liberation theology, Howard Thurman, Father Joseph Brown, James Baldwin, Bishop John Bryant, and James Cone. He enjoys traveling to local wineries, and hosting parties. He is an Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Partner and has supported them for over 2 decades. During his time with IBM, he lived out of a suitcase and became a member of the million miler club and lifetime status at assorted hotel chains. He also lived in Belgium and traveled throughout nearby European countries in the mid to late 1990s. One of his favorite games is Risk which he plays daily. He is no longer the gym rat that he used to be. But he still swims in his in-ground pool daily. Some of his mottos are: whatever the universe gives you, you have to give it back and we have to be the miracle that we need.
Ingrid Harris '99 Vice-President
Ingrid Harris received her BS in Accounting from Hampton in 1999. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Government Financial Manager. As an active alum, she has supported the school as an officer of her reunion class and a member of the Charm City Pirates scholarship committee.

Ingrid has been an auditor for the federal government for 25 years and currently serves as an Audit Program Director for the U.S. Dept of Transportation Office of Inspector General. She previously performed financial and financial-related audits for the inspectors general of the U.S. Dept of Veterans Affairs, the Defense Information Systems Agency, and the U.S. Dept. of Defense. She also provides tax preparation services through her private practice.
Ingrid is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, catching up with her book club, and supporting the sorority’s public service activities.

She was educated at Hampton University, a Historically Black College/University (HBCU), where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Finance. She currently resides in Baltimore County, MD with her loving and devoted husband of 22 years, Tony Wiggs and their son.
Shirmel’s career began after graduating from Hampton University Class of 2001 QT4, worked for a Fortune 500 company where she realized that working for someone else and building their business was not a good fit for her long term. After three years of corporate, she began working as an independent contractor for a Financial Services Firm.
Shirmel has dedicated herself by servicing her community financially through her business The Purpose Generation, LLC for 22 years. In her capacity as owner and operator, she helps families accomplish their personal financial goals and dreams through proper financial education, strategic coaching, and implementation.
Shirmel was also initiated into the Baltimore Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in the Spring of 2019, as apart of CodeRed 99 line.
Shirmel has worked as a financial enthusiast, investment broker, and entrepreneur majority of her career.
She's an advocate for financial education, because she believes that if we learn how money works, how to properly protect our assets and apply simple fundamentals to wealth building practices, we would be unstoppable as a people.

Chelsea Brewer received her BA in Psychology from Hampton University in 2011. She holds a Doctorate in Education Policy and Leadership from American University and brings more than 15 years of experience focused on improving educational systems and supporting opportunities for children and families. Chelsea currently serves as an Adjunct

Chelsea currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at American University and consults with large urban school districts on federal education grant programs. She previously served as Executive Director of Literacy Programs and Initiatives for the Maryland State Department of Education.
Chelsea serves on the Baltimore County Citizens Review Board for Children through a four-year appointment by Maryland Governor Wes Moore. Through her service, she supports efforts focused on the safety and well-being of children and families involved in the child welfare system.
In her spare time, Chelsea enjoys attending live music events, cheering on the Baltimore Ravens, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her goddaughter, Marley. She remains connected to Hampton University and embraces the values of excellence, leadership, and service as a Forever Pirate.

Raymond enjoys traveling therefore using his DoW civilian benefits as well as spending time with his family & friends. As a former member of the Student Recruitment Team at Hampton University, Raymond considers himself outspoken and attempts to keep himself busy. Raymond can be found at M&T Bank Stadium on some Sundays working his part-time shift.
Raymond transferred to Hampton University in the Spring of 2016 to enjoy the fruits of his labor and to him, Hampton will always be “a thought sent from heaven above.”

With a B.A. from Hampton University and Masters from Maryland Theological Seminary, Letricia Loftin is a retired professor at the latter. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Little Miss Black | Miss Black Teen US of A Pageant, an out-of-the-box ministry that celebrates, honors and promotes little girls and their Black beauty, Black brilliance, and Black legacy. She is the Executive Producer of New York Fashion Week in Black, a fashion show inspired by Ebony Fashion Fair and salutes Black fashion, culture and greatness. Loftin also founded and leads MinistHer, a celebration of women in ministry, which includes a podcast, a line of inspirational t-shirts, and scripture-based scented soy candles.
Her joy of motivating and writing has allowed her to author four books - "Not to Entertain You - The Ministry of Dance", "Praise Him with the Timbrel and Dance", "Black Girl Crowned', a manual for Black girls in pageantry, and "Walk in Joy", a 30-day devotional. She travels the East Coast to facilitate workshops to enhance church praise dance ministries, and leads women's seminars. The former morning gospel radio personality also enjoys emceeing conferences, concerts and corporate events, and voices commercials, audio books and corporate voicemail greetings. She is an actor and has graced the stages, tv and movie screens. Her work has landed her several awards and honors including Kirk Franklin and Mary Mary's HOMETOWN HERO, and Virginia Union University's Destiny Daughters.
Loftin is the Marketing and Communications Manager of First Baptist Church of Glenarden's non-profit arm, SHABACH! Ministries, Inc. She also serves as a co-host for the church's pre-and-post worship online show.
Pageantry is in her DNA. Aside from her Little Miss Black Foundation, she is World's Perfect Classic Woman 2023, a pageant judge, coach, director, and her favorite - pageant mom. Her daughter reigned as Miss Hampton University 2017. She has judged and coached for the Miss America Organization, Miss United States, and numerous others. Her ministry of pouring into young ladies landed her the blessing to launch and direct Cynthia Bailey's Miss Renaissance Pageant; even making a cameo appearance on the television show, "Real Housewives of Atlanta".
Loftin recognizes and is grateful for her greatest gifts from above, her daughters, Brianna (31), Brooklyne (30), Braxton (who now resides with Jesus and is forever 21), and her incredible parents, sisters, nieces and nephews. Their earthly and heavenly love clothe her daily with the reminder in Psalms 23:5-6, "...thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life."

She is an alumna of the National Urban Fellows program, earning a Master of Public Administration from Bernard M. Baruch College at the City University of New York in 2012.
Crystal began her career in financial planning and analysis, working for corporations such as Johnson & Johnson, Initiative Media, and Microsoft. For more than 15 years, she has built strategies, developed policies, administered programs, and implemented legislative initiatives with a primary focus on gun violence prevention. She began this work with a vision of helping communities and individuals thrive. Throughout her career, she has made an impact in the many cities where she has lived, contributing not only to public safety programs but also to community engagement, youth engagement, Black male engagement, labor policy, and protective pay legislation.
Crystal is a change agent and carries that title with tremendous responsibility. She connects her passion for service to a deeply held belief that the community where she grew up deserves greater access to opportunities, resources, and initiatives that help make it a safe haven for those who live there.
Graduating from Hampton has held significant meaning to Crystal. For example, her grandfather gave up his scholarship to Tennessee State University and joined the Marines to care for his family. He was able to attend her graduation from an HBCU before passing away later that same year. Additionally, Crystal is the first person in her family to go away to college and graduate. She now carries a special legacy of what is possible for the next generation of her family.
Crystal is an explorer and lifelong learner. She loves art, music, laughing, and can always be found on the dance floor, even when there is no dance floor. Especially if the DJ plays Soca or Afrobeats. She serves as a board member of Cincinnati’s Olivet Food Pantry. Her family means the world to her. Striving for the best auntie ever award, she is also motivated to create space for her three nieces to grow up empowered and encouraged to follow their dreams.
